There’s no moment like the one when you truly discover the voice of a book. Everything feels like it has (finally!) clicked. It was over three years now that I wrote the first few chapters of the series, and I still remember sitting in the library, writing the scene where Eve and Caleb meet for the first time. It was as if I’d always had the story inside me. It had just been waiting to come out.
I’ve always wanted to write commercial fiction for women, and I’m now in a place where a thirteen year old or a forty year old woman could enjoy my books. I’m writing for the girl who hasn’t had her first kiss and the woman who’s going through a divorce. The audience is so incredibly broad, and that’s exciting to me. I love reaching so many people.
Pacey, pacey, pacey. I love to keep the pages flipping, and oftentimes have to force myself to slow down.
I’m working on a new series called Blackbird, though I can’t say much about it just yet. More details soon…
Rise is dedicated to fans of the series, and I truly meant that. Being an author requires long stretches of time alone, sitting in front of a computer, lost in another world. I’m not immune to moments of doubt. Having an inbox full of emails from readers, telling me what they liked, telling me how excited they are for the next book—that kept me going in more challenging times, when the writing didn’t come as easily, or I was wrestling with plot.

Raubtier Aves, 039-1, AKA: TierDestruction, clones, action, prophecy and science-fiction...the I Am Just Junco series has those elements and plenty more. With this novella written in the point of view of serious and commanding Tier, J.A. Huss reminds us that romance is an element of the I Am Just Junco series not to be sidelined.
Son of Lucan
Ranking Officer of the Avian military
And devoted to Junco, no matter what
Tier was left with one specific order and he’s not about to screw it up. He might lose all his allies, his brothers, his shot at defeating the High Order, and his own Eternal Salvation - but he’s willing to risk it all to keep one small girl alive.
Tier reveals his part in the epic tale of The Seven Siblings, spilling secrets and motivations that will leave you breathless and wanting more.
Two years have passed since Inanna stole Junco away from Lucan. Two years of unimaginable pain. Two years of isolation, mutilation and torture. Two years of fear and loneliness in a morph tank. And that’s not something you just get over, even if you are psycho-assassin, Junco Coot.Once more Junco has woken to find that she is changed. She has been forcefully leveled up to Archer status by the hateful, evil, and apparently real goddess Inanna. Range begins two years from where J.A. Huss left us clutching Flight to our hearts.
Now Junco has to learn to live with the consequences. Her Siblings are suspicious and angry, half her team is dead, Tier is wreaking death and destruction, Lucan is holding his secrets close, and she is spiraling out of control.
There is only one partnership that matters anymore – only one person she will trust and take direction from – and only one way out of the Hell she’s been sentenced to.
Junco is tired of fighting and death. She’s had enough and this time she means to end it – once and for all.
You don’t want to owe that Luck bastard anything. It always asks for something in return.Junco exploded onto the scene in Clutch and she hasn't stopped yet! J.A. Huss brings back her wild, foul-mouthed heroine with another fierce installment in the I Am Just Junco series: Flight. Junco survived the fledge with a devastating victory and found a most shocking way to save her beloved Tier.
There’s a new twist on an old prophecy and this one brings the End of Days. Junco must make a choice – human or avian? Only one race can survive.
Lucan has secrets and the lies are flowing like a mountain river during spring thaw. But he needs Junco to cooperate just a little bit longer or it all falls apart.
The Siblings on Earth are waiting for the Seventh to return and pull their clutch together. But Earth has secrets too – secrets that change everything.
Junco has survived against impossible odds, but the cost of survival is higher than she ever imagined. Luck is about to catch up with Junco Coot and her debt must be paid.
CONTENT WARNING - You know the drill...this is Junco we're talking about, right? Bad language, no qualms about killing.
Well-trained soldier or genetically engineered monster?
Junco Coot can’t even remember her trip off Earth; she was too busy being morphed into her new avian body. But reality hits her hard when she wakes up to find her new life is not what she expected. Not even close.
Tier is on trial for treason, the avian president wants her dead, her new military team is hostile, her body is being taken over by an illicit AI, and her only friend is a ten-year old throwaway boy.
In most places the avian Fledge ritual would be nothing more than mass murder, but here in the capital city of Amelia, it’s called growing up. Junco has two choices: fight to the death to prove her worth, or get sent back to Earth in the hands of her enemies.
In a foreign culture and surrounded by people she can’t trust or count on, Junco must find a way to save herself and Tier without losing her immortal soul in the process.
CONTENT WARNING - Just like CLUTCH, Book Two has lots of bad language and extreme violence. You've been warned. This series is NOT YOUNG ADULT.

David Linney, Marquess of Deal, stands apart from society. He believes that his neighbors and friends shamed him because of his father's suicide. It's also the secrets he keeps that keep him fearful of letting anyone come too close. Rosalie Whitwell is young, optimistic, and struck with the need to help others. She's a lovely character that pushes so much hope into the lines of the story.

Ever since Mabby died while picking beans in their garden -- with the pock-a-pock of a helicopter overhead -- four-year-old Valley knows what her job is: hide in the underground den with her brother, Bo, while Da is working, because Those People will kill them like coyotes. But now, with Da unexpectedly gone and no home to return to, a teenage Valley (now Valkyrie) and her big brother must bring their message to the outside world -- a not-so-smart place where little boys wear their names on their backpacks and young men don’t pat down strangers before offering a lift. Blythe Woolston infuses her white-knuckle narrative, set in a day-after-tomorrow Montana, with a dark, trenchant humor and a keen psychological eye. Alternating past-present vignettes in prose as tightly wound as the springs of a clock and as masterfully plotted as a game of chess, she ratchets up the pacing right to the final, explosive end.How often do we want to admit that our heroes or heroines are the bad guys? It's always been a struggle for me to view the main character as the one in the wrong or the one with any faults at all. Blythe Woolston really increases that struggle as she tells Valkyrie White's thrilling story. Black Helicopters chronicles what brings Valley to this present day with revenge on the forefront of her mind and a bomb strapped to her chest.
A teenage girl. A survivalist childhood. And now a bomb strapped to her chest. See the world through her eyes in this harrowing and deeply affecting literary thriller.
